The advent of instagram, airbnb, cheap airfares and ever larger cruise ships arriving at destinations, once cherished for their charm and tranquility become overwhelmed, transforming authentic experiences into stressful or crowded ones.
Having spent the last 20 years continuously traveling, and visiting over 130 countries and all 7 continents—I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact overtourism has on cities, local communities and once remote regions.
As someone passionate about both sustainable travel and technology, we began exploring ways artificial intelligence could offer innovative solutions to this rapidly growing issue. My extensive experience on the ground in heavily touristed locations provided unique insights into patterns of travel behavior, environmental impacts, and the specific challenges faced by popular destinations
